Dictionary Definition : Kelsey-- Frequently called "Kels," this female specimen of Homo Sapiens belongs to the Literary Cabinet universe. Although she is a young member, she has shown her maturity to be above other species, sometimes. "Kelsey" can behave quite crazy in her own right. One of her most noticeable traits is paranoia and knowledge of trolls.

PostSubject: Sarkozy and Machiavelli   Thu Aug 27, 2009 11:38 pm

I need to compare the political reign of Nicolas Sarkozy, President of France, to three teachings in Machiavelli's The Prince. We were given a list of nine traits from The Prince to compare or contrast the real reign to, and I'm having a hard time finding matches. I know nothing of Sarkozy's politics (I'm not supposed to; this is an assignment about Machiavelli, not Sarkozy) and even my Google skills aren't helping.
I've got two of the nine, but I need one more.

These are the remaining:
A. A prince never lacks legitimate reasons to break his promise.
C. It is better to be feared than loved.
D. Avoid flatterers. Keep a small cousin of those who will tell you the truth, but keep respect.
E. First priority: protect power
F. Bring pain all at once. Drag rewards out.
H. Be miserly rather than liberal.
I. Persuade people. When they change their minds, force them to be persuaded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as always.
