Hello there!

My name is Polina, but most of you know me as Magda from Yahoo!Answers. For those of you who haven't met me yet, pleased to meet you!

I'm fourteen years old and a freshman in high school. I love to read. People have told me I read too much, but of course you and I know that "read too much" is an oxymoron. My favorite books include Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Jane Eyre, The Lord of the Rings, Rebecca, The Chronicles of Narnia, the Princess Bride, etc., etc. I don't think there's a single book I loathe with a fiery passion (no, not even the dreaded math book, though I have the feeling that will change once I get to Calculus).

I write, too, and I consider myself an all right writer, but not great. I admit I'm a perfectionist where my writing is concerned; I have to double-check it several times before I even think of showing it to anyone.

I adore plays, particularly musicals, particularly Phantom, Les Mis, Sweeney Todd, and Fiddler on the Roof. I also love acting, but am not an actress and have never been in anything professional, just school and camp stuff.

I can almost never bring myself to insult or judge anybody. I see the best in people and it takes a lot to get me to hate them. Like Mary Sunshine, I always try to see a little bit of good in everyone.

I know most of the people here (by the way, thanks for the invite, Epiphany!) so I think I'll get along here just fine.

I love you M I love you

Dictionary Definition : Rodent - Homo Rodentiensis is a typical LC creature. Always ready to laugh about stupidity, this being has long occupied a special moderator status on the LC. As one of the very few LC creatures who actually can get and keep a partner, she is the object of constant envy. Though madness is not part of the average Rodents characteristics, this particular feature can at times be subject to change, especially when striken by severe sleep deprivation.

Dictionary Definition : Laura: Also known as "Solveig", her internet pseudonym, this female specimen of Homo Sapiens founded the Literary Cabinet world. One can spot "Laura," by the fun she has grading papers and drinking coffee, with triple coffee consumption ever since she quit smoking. Like another species, Homo Sapiens Zarasahanous, she enjoys picking at the extreme Twilight fans. This specimen is particularly fond of procrastinating, as most of the other species of the Literary Cabinet Universe are.

I had a friend named Andra and there for a while her mother grounded her from reading. We were like 12 at the time and she didn't want to go anywhere or do anything all she ever wanted to do was sit down in her bedroom and read.

Hey Magda. Really happy to see you here. I can't believe someone was grounded for reading! That's almost criminal. People can't read too much ... never ever ... always learning. Of making and reading books there is no end.

Hey, Magda! Glad to see you here! Isn't this such a great place? I love this little treehouse.

Beautybitz: That actually almost happened to me. I'd pick staying in and reading over going to an amusement park. I used to read all the time and my mom would threaten to take the books away from me. Crying or Very sad It would make me cry. Plus, she told me I couldn't go to the library, because we were always going to pick up books that I'd requested and I was finishing the books to fast. lol! For several months, I was depressed because I had no book to read. I don't read nearly as much, but I'm glad I can go to the library again.

Heyla and welcome!

I got grounded from reading in middle school, but it wasn't because I read too much. It was because no one could figure out what else to ground me from- if I couldn't go outside I'd play video games, if I couldn't play video games I'd read. Plus I have two brothers in the same age group so I couldn't exactly be grounded from playing with them.

So I got grounded from reading for a week, lied and said that the S.S.R. (sustained silent reading) requirement from school was an hour and a half instead of half an hour, and mysteriously never heard the alarm. By the fourth day my parents had given up on grounding me.

Actually, I think that's the only time I've been grounded. Huh. I don't even remember what I did.

So, welcome to the Treehouse, Magda!

lol! I don't think I've been grounded before either. I mean, even when my mom says she'd ground me (she doesn't
say that often), she doesn't actually mean it. Even with my other siblings, who have been grounded before, she never keeps her promise. Anyway, I don't go out much, I don't play video games as much as before, so she can't take a lot away from me. study All a need is a good book.

Dictionary Definition : Jane: Also known as "Ally," "Allison," and "freshmeat," this female Homo Sapiens specimen has proven herself a strong member of the Literary Cabinet world. One can recognize "Jane" by her taste in, especially older, men, many of them classic fictional characters, as well as her distinct fear of drama class auditions. Like many of the other species in the Literary Cabinet Universe, she is crazy in her own right.

Hey, Magda! Nice to see you. It's Aly, now going by Jane because I like my middle name better than my first.

I love your taste in books. Jane Eyre is my favorite, and The Phantom of the Opera, Rebecca, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Lord of the Rings are all amazing as well.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hello and welcome (although I'm just as new as you...and I'm still figuring out how to work my computer). Very Happy
