Dictionary Definition : Laura: Also known as "Solveig", her internet pseudonym, this female specimen of Homo Sapiens founded the Literary Cabinet world. One can spot "Laura," by the fun she has grading papers and drinking coffee, with triple coffee consumption ever since she quit smoking. Like another species, Homo Sapiens Zarasahanous, she enjoys picking at the extreme Twilight fans. This specimen is particularly fond of procrastinating, as most of the other species of the Literary Cabinet Universe are.

So. As some of you may recall, I am currently working on the "Crucible" with my amateur theatre group. We have four weeks to go till the premiere, and now, out of the blue, the woman who plays "Ann Putnam" has quit - because she feels too young to play a grown-up woman. No kidding. In the last play we did, she played a young boy, and the one young boy that we actually have had to play the grandmother, since she was truly convinced that he was much more suited for the role.

I am so mad at her. I mean, what does she think we do? Offer a forum for her midlife crisis neuroses? Argh. Argh. Evil or Very Mad

Dictionary Definition : Rodent - Homo Rodentiensis is a typical LC creature. Always ready to laugh about stupidity, this being has long occupied a special moderator status on the LC. As one of the very few LC creatures who actually can get and keep a partner, she is the object of constant envy. Though madness is not part of the average Rodents characteristics, this particular feature can at times be subject to change, especially when striken by severe sleep deprivation.

If she is such a pain, maybe they should not allow her in any more plays. It is very bad form to quit one month before the premiere because you feel "too young" for a certain role. IT'S ACTING for cryin' out loud. It's PRETEND!

I so understand how you feel. Stupid people drive me nuts.

My father is the producer for this particular play... and he said very plainly that he was not going to give her ANY other role ever again. At least something.

To finish this topic of with a nice twist: One of our group, who had not realized that the woman was gone, asked when the "elderly lady who plays Ann Putnam" was due to return... Twisted Evil I asked her to repeat that question whenever our quitter next turns up.

Dictionary Definition : Kelsey-- Frequently called "Kels," this female specimen of Homo Sapiens belongs to the Literary Cabinet universe. Although she is a young member, she has shown her maturity to be above other species, sometimes. "Kelsey" can behave quite crazy in her own right. One of her most noticeable traits is paranoia and knowledge of trolls.

Dictionary Definition : Zara Sahana 007- Also known as "Zara," this abnormal specimen of the female gender of Homo Sapiens exhibits various bizarre behaviors. The most common of these include James Bond obsession, video game fever, and perhaps the strangest of all, a certain fondness for mathematics. Similar to other Homo Sapiens of the Literary Cabinet world, Zara Sahana 007 displays procrastination in brilliant forms, but will not admit to her oddball ways

lol!

This is such a late response, but I'm loving it, Laura!

Definitely have some harshness ready for her if she were to return! And tell us all about it! Twisted Evil

I realize this is late, but as someone who loves to act, I simply have to put in my two cents.

Yes, you all have a right to be annoyed. It's unfair to all of you that she left when there was no way you could get a new person and have them learn the role long enough to do a good job. It was immature. She's wrong, too; I've seen a sixteen year old play Ann Putnam very believably (school play).

However, it's up to the directors to punish her, either by not letting her leave, or by kicking her out of your theatre group all together. I think it would be better if you left her alone. Clearly, she has enough issues as it is.

Also, this is over four weeks after the post, so...how did the show go?
